Here's my unfiltered experience
Stepping into this grand hotel was like traveling back in time. The beautiful old-world charm is captivating, and my spacious room offered good views. The attentive staff ensured a pleasant stay, while the good breakfast served directly at the table was a lovely touch. A convenient shuttle to city highlights is a big plus!

Absolutely perfect and excellent location, especially for me. Only 20 minutes on foot from Nara railway station. Professionalism from the whole staff. Well-appointed and brand-new units with a good view and a beautiful recently remodeled bathroom...

Greatly enjoyed this fairly clean and beautiful historical place, attentive staff and brand-new rooms. Booked a room with magnificent views over the park. The location was absolutely perfect and magnificent, for example, a world-class museum was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. It was located in a very convenient area.

the location was comfy and best possible - an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. it was a super close walk to naginoki, where you can have lunch.
Some of the staff were not very friendly.

The Nara Hotel has a fascinating old-world charm that instantly transports you to a different era. My room was spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows that provided plenty of natural light. The staff were consistently great. The location was perfect, just a short walk from Nara Park and the main attractions, allowing me to explore easily.

a very beautiful historic building at a perfect location, very close to the most traditional part of nara. and hotel itself is actually just like a park. you can even see deers just outside your window in the morning. all staff are extremely nice and patient and the service is pretty good. and the lounge at first floor is also recommendable.
the facilities are relatively old regarding the price. room not so big.

Very good location for sightseeing (grab a taxi to/from the train station if you arrive/leave by train). Very polite and helpful (English speaking) staff. Spotless room, comfortable bed. Will stay again if I ever visit the city again.
No wifi in rooms (wifi in lounges/reception, cable in room) is the only negative thing i can think about. :-)

Near the park
Staff is not helpful and kindly as asual in Japan. Price is high and dinner or breakfeast are overpriced (more than 100 euros for a dinner) Bathroom is very old fashion (in modern part of the hotel!)

Our family enjoyed the historic charm of the hotel and its spacious rooms, along with the good multi-course breakfast. The deer in the nearby park made our walks even more special, and we appreciated the attentive service from the staff.
My kids wished there were more family-friendly entertainment options.

Room was great. Very comfortable.
I thought the location was great, it being near the Kintetsu Nara station. Unfortunately, while the hotel isn't far from the hustle and bustle of Nara, to get there you need to climb quite a few flights of stairs. I was sweating, in autumn weather, by the time I reached the hotel. Not for the independent traveller. The staff were generally helpful but most are not able to converse in English.
